Currently, I do not participate in any insurance panels. However, if you are interested in utilizing your out-of-network benefits, I will provide you with a receipt which you can submit to your insurance company in an effort to receive reimbursement. I can also provide you with the potential billing codes to assist you in this process.
I strongly recommend contacting your insurance company prior to the start of treatment in order to receive clarification regarding your out-of-network mental health benefits. Your out-of-pocket payment may also be applied to your deductible. Many of my patients are able to receive some type of reimbursement for out-of-network care.
During our first phone call, we will briefly discuss your interest in therapy to determine if we should meet for an initial consultation. For minors, the initial consultation typically involves meeting with both the client and the parent. For individual or parenting treatment, you will attend the initial consultation on your own. The initial consultation typically lasts approximately 50 minutes, while follow-up sessions typically last 45 minutes.
During the initial consultation we will explore your reasons for seeking treatment, and gather information about various aspects of your life. We will discuss goals and hopes for therapy and will determine a schedule.
Currently, all sessions will be held via video teletherapy, or if preferred, via telephone therapy. I am currently licensed to see clients who are in New Jersey and Florida. Additionally, through PsyPact, I may be able to meet with you virtually if you are travelling or away at college in many other states, as well.
Patients are typically seen on a weekly basis. However, depending on your needs and current situation, semi-weekly therapy may be considered as an option as well. As our work progresses, we can determine the appropriate frequency of sessions.
The length of treatment will depend on preferences and goals. Throughout treatment, we will regularly discuss your progress towards these goals. If we determine that you are no longer in need of therapy services, we will discuss a plan for terminating the therapeutic relationship.
Due to the importance of your confidentiality, I do not accept friend or contact requests from current or former clients on any social networking site (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.). I believe that adding clients as friends or contacts on these sites can compromise your confidentiality and our respective privacy. It may also blur the boundaries of our therapeutic relationship.
In the case of an emergency, you should call 9-1-1, 9-8-8, or visit your local emergency room. I may not be available in an emergency, or available beyond our scheduled session time.
No, as a psychologist, I do not prescribe medication. If medication may be clinically indicated as part of your treatment, I can collaborate with your primary care doctor or psychiatrist, or provide you with a recommendation for a licensed prescriber, to ensure you receive comprehensive care.
